Hassayampa Reviews
"Truly Amazing"
We had an amazing event at the Hassayampa, last year, much due to your involvement. So many positive comments were relayed by those in attendance regarding the historic nature and central location of this fantastic facility. Truly an amazing venue.
"Old Time Elegance"
We stayed for a weekend, our first time at this hotel. From check in to the room to dinner, the singer at the bar and the jazz in the lobby it was all first rate. Not modern but everything a historic hotel should be. Each employee we spoke to was warm, friendly and helpful, we were made to feel right at home. Our room had a King size bed and an additional sitting area, it was lovely and a very comfortable bed. My husband who travels with his own pillow and blanket didn't even have to bring them in. We are looking forward to our next stay.
"Perfect"
This is a wonderful hotel. The entire facility, from rooms, to dining facilities, to patio, to lobby, the place is one of the nicest older hotels we have stayed, including five days at the Waldorf in NYC. The staff we met, including the wait staff in the dining room, were very accommodating and friendly. The breakfasts we ordered were delicious. Spencer, at the desk the night we checked in and the morning we checked out, was very pleasant, attentive and thoughtful. We arrived in Prescott without an reservation, wanted to stay downtown near all the activity, arrived at the hotel just about evening and ended up renting a suite - two rooms and a large bath, with authentic architectural features that would have made it a giant success in the 20s. It was very well furnished, looked and felt great and renewed my trust in historic hotels in AZ (those we had in Bisbee and Williams were holes). The attention to detail and quality in the furnishings and décor was outstanding and lovely. Everything was clean and orderly. The hotel is less than a block from the historic courthouse square, filled with folks basking in the sun or cooling off in the shade and is in the middle of the action, Great views of the town. I was there with my adult son and am planning to travel there with my wife again when the weather cools down again. Prescott itself is beautiful. Tons of outdoors stuff to do. Lots of shopping. Great restaurants. Great weather. An hour and a half from Phoenix on scenic, but wide highways. Has over 800(!!) places on the National Register of Historic Places and four designated Historical Districts. But this is about Hassayampa Inn, which Is just fantastic. Oh, yeah, very reasonably priced, about the same as a better chain hotel. And Barry Goldwater's father led the way for it to be built so the town would have such a hotel.
"Great Service"
Had a great three-day visit and thought the service from the staff was extraordinary. I was there on business and had a few "out of the ordinary" needs. Every need was met promptly, professionally and with a charming smile. Everyone was so very, very friendly, especially the night staff. Riding in the elevator reminded me of visiting my father's office in the 1950s with an operator and a door that needed hand holding to be closed. We had a excellent meal and hotel within walking distance of some good restaurants. One of my best stays ever.
"Perfect Weekend"
We wanted to thank you so much for accommodating us and making our stay extra special.
We had the most amazing time there and didn’t want it to end. The room, and all of the common areas of the hotel were incredible. You can really tell that the whole team takes great pride in their hotel as evidenced by the cleanliness, organization, service standards and attention to detail in all areas. What really made it extraordinary was the genuine hospitality and service from everyone that we came in contact with, starting with you and then, before we even arrived the personal recommendations and assistance from Celine the Front Office Manager. The front desk agents when we arrived, the young man who took us to our floor in the elevator, the young lady at the coffee bar, as-well-as our servers in the bar and in the restaurant were all amazing!!! Even the musicians on Saturday evening were talented and engaging.
We can’t thank you and the team there enough for a perfect weekend!
If there is ever anything we can do for you when you are back in the valley, please don’t hesitate to reach out.
All the best,
Lenny

"AMBIANCE! "
Just a wonderful spot to have an historical view of old Prescott. My seat mate and I enjoyed brunch. From the moment you walk through the door, you travel back in time. You can almost imagine the clientele in the late 20's and rubbing elbows with the rich and famous. Not my first time there, but felt a need to post this....consistent good service, good food at a reasonable price. The lobby and common areas have been maintained impeccably. Walking the few flights down to the Peacock, enjoying the art deco.... unrivaled even by old Chicago or New York. The old west can still compete. Bundle your trip and stay at the Hassayampa Hotel, take in a show at the old Elks Theater (Beautiful Restoration), and pup crawl Whiskey Row. Now that's a recipe for a great trip to Prescott
The Hassayampa Inn sits in all her stately red brick glory...

on the corner of Gurley and Marina streets in beautiful downtown Prescott(Pronounced Press-kit.) It isn't a tall or imposing building. Only about four stories. We like staying on older hotels because they have character. Each of them has their quirks as well. The Hassayampa Inn is no exception. We arrived late in the afternoon of Saturday, December 30, 2023. Walking into the lobby, the first thing you notice is how small it is. The decor is comfortable and simple. Checking-in was easy. We were assigned room 301. The young lady at the front desk told us the room numbers were on the glass panels above the door. There are two ways to get upstairs. You can take the stairs, which are narrow and not exactly conducive to schlepping luggage, or you can take the original staff operated elevator that was installed when the hotel was built in 1927. Once we got to the third floor, the elevator doors were opened and I really felt like we stepped back in time. The walls were a dull yellow. I felt like I was in the Shining and just waiting for the twins to show up. Room 301 has two queen beds. The Mrs. and I were surprised at how spacious the room is. Many older hotels have really small rooms. You have to remember that back when many of them were built air conditioning was non-existent and people generally didn't spend a lot of time in their rooms. The bathroom was pretty big as well. The tiling on the floor and walls was beautiful and there wasn't a single bit of discoloration on the tile or grout. There is a large walk-in closet that was kind of creepy. The view from our room overlooked the hotel patio which sits on the corner of Gurley and Marina. It was nice to be able to open the window and let in the cold Arizona air. For your dining enjoyment, the Hassayampa Inn is the home of the Peacock Dining Room. There is also a bar that offers live music seven nights a week with Happy Hour being from 4 to 6 p.m. daily. And for you morning coffee fix there is the Territorial Cafe. The staff we encountered were very friendly. They were all on the younger side but were very professional. Parking is free. You can park overnight on Gurley street right in front of the hotel or on Marina street. There is also a small parking lot on Marina street. As far as the overall location, you can't beat it. You are well within walking distance from all the shops, restaurants, and bars in downtown Prescott. The Hassayampa Inn is a haunted hotel so if you're sensitive to those kinds of things do your research before you stay there.
